20 Months, 20 Weeks!

Miss Ellison is 20 months old. For now, I am choosing to be in denial that she will be 2 in only 4 months, because I just can't believe how fast time is flying by. She is so full of personality (and sass). I wish I could bottle up some of her energy and use it for myself!

Saying "cheese" (literally)

Classic Ellison look of mischief...

It's starting to get cold, and I keep wondering what Ellison will think of winter. Last year she was too little to really care about playing outside, but now that's one of her favorite things to do. I think it's going to be a big adjustment to not be able to just put on shoes and go out into the yard once there's ice and snow. I guess we will see soon enough how she feels about getting bundled up and going out in the snow! She tried her snow pants and winter coat on today and didn't seem thrilled. She definitely likes fall, playing outside in the leaves and "helping" Jay with the yard work. And of course, the acorns!

We went apple picking last weekend, which is something I have always wanted to do and hope to make a fall family tradition! We got a HUGE bag of McIntosh apples and have already made delicious applesauce and apple cake. Pie is next on my list to make! Ells was more interested in running around in the field of pumpkins than she was in actually picking apples, but she definitely had fun.

Yet another big change coming up for E. Our daycare provider (who Ellison LOVES and calls "Manda Pancakes") has to move to Oak Creek and is closing in only a few short weeks! Ells has really taken to the kids at this daycare and talks about them ALL the time, so I'm a little heartbroken to be searching for daycare yet again. This will (hopefully) be our last in-home provider before we switch both kids to a church daycare when I go back to work after having baby boy! The waiting list was an entire year long, we put them both on immediately after we found out we were expecting again!!!

In other news, this week also marked the halfway point of my pregnancy! 20 weeks has definitely gone by faster this time around. The differences between the two pregnancies have been hard to adjust to. I am so much more tired this time than I was when I was pregnant with Ellison. I'm guessing having a toddler is contributing to that! I've also been getting sick much easier than normal, which was not a problem I had during my first pregnancy. I am just getting over another bug of some kind - this time I actually needed an urgent care visit and antibiotics, after being sick for over a week and missing a couple days of work. I also feel like we aren't getting prepared for baby as quickly as we did the first time around, which is making me  anxious! It is crazy to me that I'm due in less than 5 months. Right now the baby's room is a storage room filled with stuff (that has no place to relocate to at the moment). I can't look at any of those pregnancy checklist apps because we probably haven't done anything on the list yet!

Other than those little things, though, we are doing well. As of this week, I've gained back half of the weight I lost in the first trimester. I've been able to feel a lot more movement, and Jay was even able to feel baby at just over 18 weeks. Anatomy scan is tomorrow! I'm trying not to think too much about it because I don't want to imagine problems that are most likely not there. It's hard being a pregnant pediatric nurse!
Will update with ultrasound pictures and such after the scan! We have a family wedding up north this weekend, so I'll probably have lots of cute pictures of Ellison and her cousins next post too...she is pretty excited to see them!
Ready to go "shoppin"

This girl LOVES cake

Probably calling one of her "people"...
