Kellen was 4 months old on the 4th of July! We went to the parade in Greendale, but neither kid cared too much for it. Ellison curled up in Papa's lap and dozed off about halfway through, and Kellen just wanted to eat and be snuggled. Oh well...better luck next year. I had to work and Jay was going to a wedding, so after a short stop at a party in the village we left the kids with Gramma and Papa for the night. No fireworks this year...Ellison does not like loud noises right now!
At his 4 month appointment yesterday, Kellen was 14 lbs, 12 oz (32.1%) and 26 3/4 inches (96.63%). Another tall and skinny kid. Like big sister, his weight for length is very low (1.56%, Ellison was 0.53% at her 2 year appointment) but their doctor is not worried at all. They are just tall like Daddy! Kellen is meeting all his milestones, and the doctor was ok with us waiting until 6 months to introduce solids since he is growing great with just breastmilk. Ellison came with us to the appointment and Dr. Grunske was shocked at how long her hair is. Kellen did not appreciate his shots and had a little temperature in the evening, but one dose of Tylenol was all he needed. And he slept past 6 am for the first time ever today! He went to sleep later than usual, but we'll call it a victory anyway!
Ellison's potty training is going really well. We are so proud of her! We haven't even had to bribe her with treats, she's been so good at letting us know when she needs to go. I think we started at the perfect age - if we had tried any earlier I'm not sure it would have been this easy. She is so funny when she sits on her potty - let's just say it can be one of the most interesting times of the day!
E starts gymnastics this weekend. She is such a little monkey, we had to get her involved in something active! I'm so excited to see how it goes. Hopefully she loves it!
Finally got the Ergo that I've been desperately wanting and I LOVE IT! Ellison likes it too..haha :)
Busy weekend coming up for us - a bunch of family events. Looking forward to getting out and hanging out with people - one of the hardest parts about having kids has been the lack of social life. I think that was probably a big contributor to my postpartum depression. On days when we leave home and do things, I feel so much better. So hopefully it will be a fun weekend!
E's first Smores experience
Watching Wizard of Oz with the "Foz people"...and a dolphin
Strawberry ice cream at the Strawberry Festival!
Very proud of our summer footprint and handprint projects!
