17 Months Old

Sweet Pea E is 17 months old! Crazy! She is getting cuter and more hilarious every day. She constantly makes us laugh. She loves playing outside, dancing, her "babies", and arranging (and then rearranging) her toys - especially her zoo animals and the magnetic letters from the fridge.

Tried to take a picture of her dancing...it is awesome!

Tiny is weighing in at 19.6 lbs. She is obviously blessed with a great metabolism because she is still a fantastic little eater and chugs milk all day long. There are still very few foods she won't eat (some meats and potatoes - except French fries - being the main ones) but we have been lucky that so far, she's not picky!

Ells and some of her "babies"

Lots of new words this month - she is starting to try and copy many things we say, including some letters. Favorite things to say lately have been "babies" and "puppies". She says "yep" as a response to most questions. Other new words are flowies (flowers), bapa (grandpa), up, and Elmo. She likes to hide behind things and them poke her head out and say "boo!" Obviously she got that one from her favorite movie :) Her knees got scraped up over the 4th of July and she kept pointing her "owies" out to us. Her little voice is so cute and she has the greatest laugh ever! She has also developed a funny little wave over the past couple of weeks that involves waving with just her pointer finger...

Picking "flowies"

Still waiting on a disc of 4th of July pictures from Gramma and Grampa. I'll share them at some point! We also had some family pics taken last week which hopefully we will see (and I will post) in the near future. Ellison will have 18 month pictures taken by Krystal (who did her newborn/6 month/1 year pics) next month as well. Yes, we are obsessed with pictures of our cutie pie! We will be on a professional photo break then until her 2 year pics.

We are starting to get really excited about our upcoming move - thinking about starting to pack and how we are going to paint! We have our current place through the end of August and close on the house July 31, so we have some time to get it move-in ready. All we really need to do is some painting, though. We go up north next week and then come back just in time for the final walkthrough and closing. Summer is flying by!

Only a couple more weeks with Ells' current daycare provider. Very sad, we will miss her!!! We found another in-home daycare, with two very nice ladies who Ellison liked right away. She starts there the second week of August. Hopefully all goes well...I wish we could afford for me to stay home with her but unfortunately that's not an option. The new place is licensed by the state and all the kids are near E's age so I think she will have fun there. I am just an anxious person so the change freaks me out, especially since I'm already stressed with the move coming up!

Enjoy these pics of Ells!!!

July!

Happy July! Summer is flying by! Ellison's two favorite things right now are the movie Monsters, Inc and taking care of her baby doll. She wants to watch the movie from the time she wakes up until she goes to bed. She points at the TV and will bring us the remotes hoping we turn the movie on. Before we hid it, she would also carry the DVD case around. It has been hard to get her to do anything but watch that movie, but she does like when we read her the book, too!

Watching Monsters, Inc.

When Ellison is not watching Monsters, Inc, she plays with her baby Belle doll. She cleans her with wipes, tries to wrap her in her "blanket" (which is a Christmas hand towel), puts her in the sink of her little grill and gives her a bath, tries to share her milk/snacks with her, and just carries her around. She has some little diapers that she wants us to put on the doll, but she always takes them off right away. "Baby" is one of Ellison's newest words, too! She has also been saying more ("ma"), eyes, keys, and "uck" when she picks a fuzz or crumb up off the ground.

We just got back from a few days up north at the cabin. The weather wasn't the best but Ells did get to spend some time outside! Ellison liked playing with all of big cousin Isabella's toys, but she was a little apprehensive about baby Olivia this time. Sometimes she seemed to like her (she gave her a big goodbye kiss and tried to help her with her pacifier) and other times she seemed a little nervous that Olivia might attack her!

Wish I had one where you could see Ellison and Isabella's faces...they are practically twins!

Lawnmower ride with Daddy

Next trip up north is at the end of July, right before we close on our house! Yes, we found one!!! It is a 3 bedroom, 2.5 bath Cape Cod with a big yard in the Lyons Park neighborhood of Milwaukee. Lots of parks in the area and very close to work for Jay. We are excited that we found such a great place. We were the first ones to look at it and put in an offer immediately. I'm a little less excited about the actual moving process. Jay is convinced that we don't need movers, so it should be interesting. We have a few more big pieces of furniture than we did the last time we moved, but since I'm not the one who will be carrying those I guess I can't complain too much!

Hope everyone enjoys their 4th of July! I have to work on the 4th and Jay works the weekend, so Ellison will be hanging out with Gramma and Grampa. I'm sure they will have her all dolled up in red, white and blue, so stay tuned for those pics!
