K Man - 8 Months!

Kellen is 8 months old! We are so lucky to have such a sweet, easygoing little guy. He is all over the place now - crawling, pulling up to stand, climbing up on to things - but he also loves to snuggle! He follows Ellison everywhere and wants to do whatever she is doing. She doesn't always find this fun, but usually she's a pretty good sport.

Kiddos playing together :)

Kellen takes baths in the regular bathtub now and LOVES it. I think he would stay in there all day if we let him!

He's got 7 teeth and seems to be teething again...not sleeping well, drooling up a storm, and chewing on anything he gets his hands on. He's got such a cute little toothy grin. He does well with chewing on little pieces of fruits and veggies that we give him, so it's probably almost time to start moving away from oatmeal and purées to more table food!

As for Miss Ellison, she is becoming quite the outgoing little lady. She always waves and says hi to people when we are out. If they don't hear her or respond, she is usually pretty bummed. She will say, "Mommy, they aren't talking to me!" She always wants to know who people are (although we need to work on asking a little nicer). She was even brave enough to stay at Sunday School by herself recently! But only once :)

Ells loves music and is always dancing. She even entertained the people in line at Old Navy a couple weeks ago by doing some dance moves while sitting in the stroller! She definitely keeps us laughing with all the funny things she says and does.
Someone dressed herself for the Packer game...

I just celebrated a birthday (still can't believe I'm 30). I worked the night before and fell asleep on the couch at 9 pm on my actual birthday, but Jay and I did have a dinner/movie date the following night! And I got to wear a lovely sombrero at El Beso and be embarrassed with cake and a song...

Other than that, just starting to get really excited about the holidays!!! Ellison is SO excited about winter coming, she couldn't wait to get outside when it snowed!

Doesn't recognize Daddy when he wears a hat, but seems to like wearing it himself!
Movie night!
Checking out the snow

Anniversary Trip & Trick or Treat

Jay and I our celebrated our 5th wedding anniversary on October 24. In some ways 5 years has flown, in other ways it seems like so much longer! Watching our wedding DVD, I think we both look about 17...how have we gotten so much older in only 5 years?!
October 24, 2009

We took a kid-free trip to Door County for our anniversary weekend. We got engaged in Egg Harbor, so it seemed appropriate! The trip where we got engaged was my first ever trip to Door County, and this was only my second...definitely need to make it a more regular occurrence. I love it up there! There's so much to see and it's so pretty. It may not have been prime-time for fall leaves, but it was still gorgeous - and the weather was perfect! Couldn't have asked for a nicer weekend.

We hit three wineries and stocked up on wine. We had delicious meals - awesome breakfasts, a fish fry, steak dinner, and some odd but very tasty nachos (who knew chili and mashed potatoes would taste good on chips?). We saw some beautiful scenery. And we got to SLEEP! Definitely had forgotten what it was like to eat hot meals, sleep all night, and have adult conversations all day. But we really missed the kids and talked about them a lot!

After picking up the kids from Grandma & Grandpa's and heading home, it was time to trick or treat! The kids were so adorable as Buzz and Jessie from Toy Story. We didn't have to ring many doorbells - people in our neighborhood apparently sit out on their lawns passing out their candy. And the ones who aren't home or aren't participating mostly had signs on their doors that said "No Candy". That made it easier to get to more houses that actually did have treats!

We also headed over (with the kids in costume) to see Grandpa Jeff/Grandma Nancy and Great Grandma Tea/Great Grandpa Joe. And then we had dinner with Gramma and Papa. I'm glad the kids cooperated so everyone could see them all dressed up!

That's about all that's new with us. Somehow it's already November??? We are keeping busy with work, stuff around the house, and the kids. Chasing these two around is a tiring job! Ellison and Jay were up north for one night over the weekend, I took her to a zoo class today (Cows!), both kids have flu shots coming up, and it's only a few weeks until Thanksgiving! Busy busy busy...

A couple more pictures from Halloween week...

And some more from around the house lately...

And some of Ellison playing in the leaves!

Kellen is going to be 8 months old tomorrow, hopefully I'll post about what he's been up to later this week!
