I thought time flew by with Ellison, but with Kellen it has seemed to go by even more quickly. 9 months old already? He barely seems like a baby at all anymore...he eats lots of table food (he's even tried things like mushrooms and salmon), has moved into a convertible carseat, and is wearing 12-18 month clothes. He may not walk by Christmas like I thought he would, but I don't think it will be long after. Things are happening way too fast the second time around!!!
Kellen has a pretty laid back personality. He's not a fussy baby, and he usually doesn't need us to entertain him. He's so different from Ellison at this age! She was so loud and had (still has!) crazy amounts of energy. Most of the time he's content just sitting with some toys, hanging out on someone's lap, or crawling around the house checking things out.
The one struggle we have had with Kellen is sleep. He's never really slept through the night, and it's gotten worse over the past month. He's never been a great napper, either. He just doesn't seem to require as much sleep as a normal person - which is hard for those of us who do! We are really hoping that a tooth shows up soon and can explain why his sleeping habits have gotten worse...
Kellen is still nursing - I'm very happy to have made it this far, after the difficult time I had breastfeeding Ells. Because Kellen's eating so much more "real" food, my supply has dipped quite a bit and I haven't been able to pump much extra. We have started to rely more heavily in the freezer stash. Still only on June milk, though. By my calculations I've pumped over 5,100 ounces, which if I'm figuring it out correctly, is over 40 gallons of milk! I'm expecting to be done pumping within the next month or two, but I plan to nurse him when I'm home until he self-weans.
Kellen's 9 month appointment is on Monday. I'm excited to see how much he has grown over the past 3 months!
