Kellen's 2 week appointment (today, at 17 days old), went well! He is eating like a champ and weighs more than a pound over his birth weight already...9 lbs, 8.5 oz! Hoping the little case of thrush he has doesn't have any kind of effect on his feeding habits. It's mild enough that nurse mommy didn't even notice it, so I think it will clear up fast! The PA prescribed nystatin, which is one of my least favorite medications to give at work, so I am not thrilled about having to give it at home. Kellen did well with his first dose though, so hopefully we won't have any issues!
The only other little issue was an umbilical granuloma (little bit of yuckiness in his belly button), which the PA had one of the doctors look at. The doctor wasn't worried - Kellen's cord stump just fell off yesterday - so it was cauterized with some silver nitrate and should be all fixed up now. Overall, a very healthy little guy! We are so blessed!!!
