51 Weeks Old!

Ellison is 51 weeks old today! Just wanted to write one last time before her birthday...I have a feeling the birthday entry will be a long one (or maybe even two). This is just some quick bullet points on what she's been up to since my last post...the blog is the easiest way to keep track of the new things she is doing! If I wrote everything in her baby book it would be so cluttered up! In the past week or so Ellison...

* Is obsessed with her daddy! When I went to get her today after her nap, she asked "where dada" right away, and when I said he is at work, she started frantically pointing to a picture of him! She will say "mama" to me but she definitely says "dada" way more. Definitely her favorite thing to say right now. I think she does make the connection with Jay now, because she will point at him if you ask, "where's Daddy?"

* Has been standing on her own for short periods of time and even took four wobbly steps on Wednesday. I haven't gotten her to do it again yet, though...so not officially a walker yet!

* Tries to copy more and more of the things we do - putting her comb up to her own hair, trying to roll her hands (like "roll it" during pat-a-cake), shaking her head no, touching her fingers together like the "more" sign (which is the only one I have tried to teach her because it's the only one I know), and even moves her hand around like she is trying to do the airplane motion Jay does when feeding her!
This is how you comb your hair, Mommy!

* Added a swaying back and forth motion to her "dancing", which used to be just bopping up and down. Sometimes she sways too far and almost falls over...she gets really into music!
Making her own music by scratching on the vent

* Gained some new teeth! #7 and #8 popped through, so she now has 4 on top and 4 on the bottom!
Lots of teeth to chew my spaghetti!

* Has almost fully transitioned to whole milk (but still won't drink milk out of a sippy cup). I just divided out the LAST storage bag of breast milk, so by tomorrow she will be officially on cow's milk!

* Has been standing on her head a lot...can't decide if she is trying to figure out how to get upright, or if she is trying to do a somersault...

Only 9 days until my baby girl is one...I cannot believe how fast the past year has flown by! One year ago I had just worked my last day of work before going on maternity leave, and now I have an almost one year old little lady! I guess time really does fly when you're having fun :)
